The UN predicts that by 2010 there will be 53 million orphaned children in sub-Saharan Africa alone. The need to support this growing group of vulnerable children is great, and while many communities are working hard to cater to their needs they are limited by the burden of poverty and lack of resources.

NEST work with such communities to improve the quality of life for these children by building homes or facilities such as community centres that cater to their needs.

Many children around the globe suffer from the ill-affects of poor quality shelter. NEST alleviates this suffering by not only supplying the material resources to build, but also by providing

the knowledge and training to communities and NGOs which allows others to learn the technology and thus cascade the flow of information to those in need.

Sustainable Building
Combining traditional Earth-Home (Eco-Home) building techniques with the best modern technology and ideas can enable communities themselves to build comfortable, quality, permanent homes. These require little more than the earth they stand on to build, and do not depend on finite resources or specialist labour.
